Janes Rees WIP

An update on Jane Rees which sampler has been sadly neglected of late due to stitching of gifts. I am undecided whether to carry on working downwards or start working sideways once I have stitched the two rows of numbers underneath. I placed a Bohin no 28 needle in the linen so you can get some idea of how small this stitching actually is! I'm sorry for the wrinkles but I don't want to keep ironing this each time I want to take a picture.

And this picture shows roughly how much I have left to stitch. It looks rather daunting doesn't it?

Oh my goodness -that is one serious piece! I like to stitch sideways and complete row by row when I'm doing samplers. Makes it feel less daunting to me, but for that piece, I dunno!

Carol, it looks gorgeous. It's so tiny when you see it compared to the needle. I enjoy sometimes stitching downwards and sometimes sideways. It just varies the routine a bit and gives a new dimension to the look of a long term project :>)

Your stitching is just beautiful Carol! There is just something about stitching in red. The shade you're using is really pretty. What a masterpiece you will have when you finish!

You certainly are not faint of heart! How many alphabets are in this piece? It looks beautiful so far. Stitching downwards seems less daunting to me, but I don't think anything is daunting to you!

It looks like a major undertaking but you've already made great progress.
I've almost forgotten how it feels to stitch on a big piece.
