I finished stitching and framing Gertrud Eckardt 1902. Not a great picture but I am very pleased with how this tiny red sampler turned out. It is stitched on 48ct Gander linen dyed with walnut ink with HDF OMG Red 1149. The frame is a cheapie which I stained and distressed. Sorry about the poor picture - it's been extremely dark and gloomy here just lately. I will replace the picture when I can get a better one. The chart is by Dany and was available with a purchase. I cannot now find it in her boutique so you may have to email her if you are interested.  

I have also been finishing a gift and Christmas ornaments - yes - my ornaments are done in October so no last minute panic for me this year! 

Early in February, at the AEF in Paris,  I purchased some pre-cut cards and a Sajou chart to stitch a fold-up booklet. I was told by the stall holder that the model was stitched 1*1 on 12 fils (32ct) and on 15 fils (36ct) by another lady. I have tried stitching on both counts of linen (see *here*) but both times the stitching does not fit the cards. I have now stitched one of the charts 1*2 on 19 fils (48ct) but although the stitching fits fine across the top it does not fit sideways. I guess the pre-cut cards are wrong and I will have to cut my own! 

And talking about the AEF, Kirby and I are planning a visit to the AEF 2013. As the venue has been changed and is now further south of Paris, we are travelling the day before to get an early start at the fair and returning to England later that evening. I will be booking Eurostar tickets in the next day or two and a hotel once my French friend has sent a recommendation - thank you Valie. Is anyone else going this year?

Simone of Soed Idee is holding a SAL of a small red sampler. It starts on December 1 but I am not sure if she is taking signups yet. I have a piece of 48ct walnut ink dyed Gander linen and some Needlepoint Inc 505 silk thread ready and waiting.

Michelle of 'Michelle's Stitchcraft Place' sent me a picture of her finish of Sew Buttons. Stitched with hand-dyed theads from her stash on 32ct Brittany fabric she finished it as a pinkeep for her friend Elisa's birthday - lucky Elisa! Isn't this pretty and I just love the tiny easel and check out those very pretty co-ordinating buttons. Thank you Michelle for allowing me to post this here.

It shows that the weather has changed (not much time spent in garden now) as I have been really busy:

My Sew Hopeful model is stitched and finished and the chart is ready for release on the Online Needlework Show on October 18. I will also release it on the same date *here*. Here is a sneak peek:

I have also nearly finished my hoop box *here* and *here*. I am only waiting on a dolls house hinge to come from eBay which is expected any day for a final finish. I am so pleased with this and can't wait to show it off :-)

And not only all the above but the stitching of Gertrud Eckhardt 1902 *here* is also done and I will be framing this for my 'little red wall' as soon as I can get a suitable frame. Picture to follow shortly.

And -  I have made a small start on my Sajou booklet. Well ... I said I had been busy!

I cannot believe that it has been over six weeks since I last posted! I was called into work to cover the holiday period. It was good to see my friends and colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I am not saying that I would like to work full-time again but the odd times here and there are good! 

This unfortunately meant that I have not been stitching much although I have been working on some new iStitch Designs. Some of these will be released at the Baltimore Trade Show so you might see my designs popping up at your LNS! How exciting is this?

Above is the little progress I have made on Gertrud Eckhardt 1902. 

I received an email from Barbara of Barb's Ramblings with a picture of her version of Sew Strawberry Fields. Barbara stitched this over 1 on 28ct even weave and finished it as a really beautiful pillow. I love her photo shoot setup with a model blackbird and a real blackbird's feather!

I also heard from Brenda of Time to Xstitch with a picture of her version of Sew Pretty in Pink. Brenda stitched this 1*2 on 32ct white Belfast linen with HDF Murmurs of Pink Premium silk thread. She finished it as a very beautiful stitching bag for her friend Pat from Las Vegas - how lucky is Pat to receive such a lovely gift?

As I mentioned in an earlier post I haven't been stitching a great deal although I have put a few more stitches into Gertrud Eckardt 1902. For those that missed details it is stitched on 48ct Gander linen dyed with walnut ink with HDF OMG Red 1149. The chart is available from Danybrod *here* 

You may be wondering why not much stitching? The answer is that I have been making macrame friendship bracelets which I will be offering for sale shortly. They are made with Chinese knotting thread  in black, ivory, turquoise and lavender with either a gold or silver plated charm and are fully adjustable. I will be posting pictures shortly so please make a return visit if you are interested.
