Cindy's Sew Quaker

Cindy of Chronicles of a Cross Stitching Hockey Fanatic seems to be enjoying stitching iStitch Designs as here is her version of Sew Quaker. It is stitched on 28ct linen in Legacy by Picture This Plus using Crescent Colors Belle Soie silk thread in Old Crow and Slate - such a lovely colour choice. Another Small and Large!



For 'small' this time it's Sew Quaker stitched by Valie. Stitched 1*1 on Zweigart Belfast Vintage Marble linen with three shades of DMC thread (3607, 3068 and 3609) and finished as a tiny (8cm x 5cm) pin pillow. Isn't it cute? Thank you Valie for allowing me to show this picture.

And now for the large ... meet Darius, the world's biggest Easter bunny. He weighs in at a thumping 3½ stones (49lbs) and is 4' 3" long (which means he is only 10" shorter than me!) so I'm not sure I'd like to meet him on a dark night! Anyone for rabbit pie?

I finished stitching Sew Summer yesterday and I will be hem-stitching it later today. I must apologise that I have not yet produced a hem-stitch tutorial. I find 'words' easy - it's the photographic 'steps' I am struggling with! I have also been charting up Sew Nautical - yes Margaret there will be a mermaid - so I hope to make a start on this one shortly.

Sew Quaker





I was going to wait until next weekend to release Sew Quaker but, as I know that some of you are waiting for this one, I decide to release it today. It is stitched on 40ct Summer Khaki linen with AVAS silk threads 4645 and Noir. It has tiny Quaker motifs to the left of a simple alphabet and to complete the picture two tiny Quaker swans and is a perfect size to finish as a pinkeep. Emblem of Love RR






I finished my section on Wendy Jo's Emblem of Love RR. It's stitched on 36ct white linen with Crescent Colours 'Wavy Navy' - a perfect choice for such a pretty sampler. I thought I would again show off my Nogent scissors in the space yet to be stitched! 





Here's a closeup of the section I stitched - it's the same section that I stitched on Suzanne's piece *here* but looks quite different in monochrome to the multi-colour version. I have now only to stitch on Margaret's piece and this RR will be finished - I cannot believe that a year will have past.

Yesterday afternoon I set to work on the model of my own little Quaker sampler aptly called 'Sew Quaker'! 

Tonight Stitch-n-Bitch are having a birthday dinner to celebrate not one but two birthdays! Gifts have been purchased and wrapped and cards have been written so all I have to do is turn up. Happy Birthday to Lynn and Caroline.
