These are two books which I received over the holiday period. The first one, a birthday gift from my fellow Stitch-n-Bitcher Caroline (no blog), is Isabelle Vautier's 'Les Samplers en Rouge et Blanc'. Caroline went on a trip to Paris a couple of months ago and she knows how much I admire Isabelle's work. Thank you Caroline.
The second book, a gift from my daughter Nicola, is also from France - 'Cross Stitch Letters Bible/Des Lettres au Point de Croix' by Valérie Lejeune. This fantastic book has 844 alphabets ranging from 1 point (stitch) to 55 points and also has numbers and letters on the bias. Just the book I need for iStitch Charts designing. Thank you Nicola.
This birthday card and three HDF mystery threads came from Valerie in San Francisco. Thank you Valerie - much appreciated.
I have more stitching gifts to share with you and will post them sporadically over a few days.
And now a little competition ...
Another new iStitch chart is printed and awaits needle and thread. This needs a 'Sew' name and, I must admit, I am finding it difficult to find 'the right one'. So here's the deal: I will tell you a little about this design and ask for suggested names. If I use the name you suggest, you will win a free chart of this design! If the name I use is suggested by more than one person, only the first person who suggested it will win. The name must have the word 'Sew' in it. The closing date is January 10 which day happens to be my son's birthday.
The chart comprises a border containing an alphabet, numbers, a squirrel, a rabbit, a fox, a bird, a butterfly, two cats and two dogs plus a few other motifs, including my signature 'open heart' and, of course, the year 2010. I originally thought to call it 'Sew Wild or Wildlife' but, as cats and dogs are not usually thought of as wild animals, I rejected this name. 'Sew Animals' does not have a 'ring' to it. So - I am open to suggestions. As always, please leave an email address with your comment if it is not shown on your profile.
Thanks for visiting
Take care
Edited: Sew Spring seems a quite popular suggestion but Sew Spring is already charted and will be released late February. I will say no more!
