Blue Band Sampler Update

iStitch Designs Blue Band Sampler SAL is due to start on April 21. I am working on Part 2 of the SAL which is a continuation on this very pretty lace-edged banding. I was asked how I handled the long length (100cms) of banding while stitching. As you can see from the picture I used a 5" bound wood hoop which I remove when I am not working on it. The top length I leave hanging but the bottom length is rolled up on an antique wood spool and tied with a twisted cord. The part showing inside the hoop is a sneak preview of Part 2.

There are a few spaces left on this SAL so if you are interested now is the time to apply by emailing me (my email address can be found on my profile) or messaging me via Facebook. The SAL has its own Facebook page *here*   it is a closed group but you only have to click to join! The cost is US$15 for Part 1 payable by Paypal and if you wish to continue with Part 2 it's an additional $12 which will be invoiced at a later date.

I am enjoying this one so much that after Sew Advent 2017 I will be working on a Red Sampler Band. Of course, these projects do not have to be stitched in blue (or red) or on the lace-edge banding. One member is stitching them side by side on a piece of linen. Others side by side on a wider linen banding. Why don't you join us?

Blue Band Sampler SAL

iStitch Designs Blue Band Sampler SAL - does anyone want to join us? This is a 14 week SAL starting on April 21. The registration fee is US$15 payable by Paypal although I will accept payment in dollars, pounds sterling and Euros sent in the mail at your own risk. Please email me (you can find my email address on my profile) with your email address to receive the charts and your Paypal address if different. On payment of the invoice I will send you an information/materials list. This very pretty lace-edged banding is available from Marijke *here* You will need 50cm for this project (cost 4.25 Euros plus shipping) but there will be a Part 2 so if you want to follow on underneath you will need to purchase 100cm. Both parts can be stitched side by side if you prefer and, of course, you can use any threads of your choice! There will be a charge for Part 2 - US$12 for existing members - US$15 if you are not a member.

A Sign of Spring

I know that some of you keep a look out for Tommy when he awakens from his Winter hibernation so I am happy to report that he woke up a few days ago. He doesn't look too happy does he? He is now wandering around in the Spring sunshine although he's not eating as yet and he still goes back in his box overnight.  As we come into Summer he stays out 24-7. Our garden is completely walled in so there is no way he can escape. I have been asked how old he is and to be truthful we don't really know but can trace him back to around 70 years ago but he may be even older than that!

*************

There are still a few spaces left on iStitch Designs Blue Band SAL so if you are interested please get in touch. I posted a video (my first ever video) on iStitch Designs Facebook page. If I can work out how to do it I will post it here!

iStitch Designs - Blue Band Sampler S

I finished stitching iStitch Designs Blue Band Sampler for the SAL so I decided to hem-stitch the top edge. This SAL starts on April 21 and there are still a few spaces left. If you are interested please email me (my email address can be found on my Profile). I will need your email address and your Paypal address if different. The cost is US$15. I've also been working on the design for Part 2 which will carry on at the bottom of this one on the lacy edge banding. Of course, you could stitch  both of these samplers separately or even side by side.

A gift and SAL update

I received the above gift from the lovely Brenda of Time to XStitch

The fabric is the most gorgeous stitching pouch in which my Blue Band Sampler is residing at present. The sled is at the moment is displayed on my desk and I cannot wait until next Christmas to display it properly! I tried to get some on these little sleds on my last trip to the states but Michaels or Hobby Lobby didn't stock them and neither did the only needlework shop I visited. I am wondering how much the postage would be to get them sent to me?? Thank you Brenda for the most beautiful gifts.

iStitch Designs Blue Band Sampler SAL is well under way. The model is almost finished; the weekly charts are done but I need to print them out and check them. There are still a a few spaces left if anyone is interested. Just email with your email address and PayPal address if different. The cost is US$15. There is a new Facebook page for the SAL *here*
