Burgundy Band Sampler

The Burgundy Band Sampler SAL finishes this Friday and the chart will be available after the weekend. It is stitched one over one on 28ct 100mm wide linen banding with AVAS 2926. It is also possible to stitch this over two on the wider 170mm banding. The stitch count is 73 x 985.

iStitch Designs - Sew Advent 2019









From iStitch Designs - Sew Advent 2019. This was this year's SAL which has just finished. The stitch count is 146W x 50H; the model is stitched 1*2 on white 40ct linen with NPI silk threads in 991B(white)(DMC B5200), 973(brown)(DMC 3021), 406 (green)(DMC 895) and 504 (red)(DMC 895). The four-sided stitch edging is done with no 12 DMC white perle cotton.

The cube ornaments are made from this same chart stitching on 30ct Brussels linen and the pillow ornament using 40ct linen. I will be preparing a finishing tutorial for the cube later.

Burgundy Band Sampler 2020 SAL





Burgundy Band Sampler 2020 SAL - This is a 28 week SAL which starts on January 3. The charts will be sent out every Friday and the sections are quite do-able and leave time for your other stitching. Please note that this does not have to be stitched on banding and can be stitched in any colour thread of your choice. 

The cost of this SAL is US$27 and covers Parts 1 & 2 (and a bonus chart) and is payable by Paypal.

This 100mm wide banding can be obtained from Marijke *here* you will need to purchase 100cm to complete the sampler. If you have difficulty with the site being in Dutch just email Marijke at ateliersteekjesenkruisjes@gmail.com  explain you are joining iStitch Designs Burgundy Band Sampler 2020 SAL and giving her your address and PayPal address. She will then work out mailing costs and send you an invoice. She speaks/writes in excellent English. I understand it is available from Sassy Jacks too.

I used AVAS soie d’alger 2926 (6 skeins) but you can, of course, stitch this band is any colour/threads of your choice. 

The above picture only shows a section of Part 1.

There are two iStitch Designs Facebook pages - one just a general iStitch Designs *here* but there is also an iStitch Designs Burgundy Band Sampler SAL page *here*  this is currently called the Amethyste Band Sampler SAL but will change once the new SAL starts. iStitch Designs Raffle
*EDITED* This raffle was drawn on September 7 and the winners were:

These are the prizes for the iStitch Designs Raffle being held in conjunction with the Burgundy Band Sampler SAL which start the first Friday in January 2020. 1st prize is a complete kit to stitch this project - weekly charts, banding, 6 skeins of the AVAS silk threads and a beautiful cherry wood spool custom made to fit the banding. 2nd prize is a French glass frog - just right to display your scissors!  If you want to join this SAL please email me (you can find my email address under my Profile). SALs

Two new SALs from iStitch Designs:

1.  Sew Advent SAL 2019 which runs from Dec 1-24. It is stitched 1*2 on 40ct white Newcastle linen with NPI silk threads 504, 406, 973 and DMC white perle cotton 12 for the four-sided stitch surround. This is a very small daily stitch and, if you keep up, you will have a finished piece by Christmas Day. Price: US$15

2. Burgundy Band Sampler SAL 2020. This SAL starts on the first Friday in January 2020. It is stitched 1*1 on 28ct linen banding with AVAS 2915 silk thread. This has the same stitch count as Blue Band Sampler, Red Band Sampler, Black Band Sampler and the ongoing SAL Amethyste Band Sampler - 73 x 985. Price: US$27

Spools are available to order at US$22 plus tracked shipping of $18 (1 or 2) or $22 (3 or 4). They come in 3 sizes 80mm, 90mm and 100mm and in two colours light and dark. 

There is also a raffle to win a complete kit for the Burgundy Band Sampler  - the pattern, the banding, silk threads and a spool and to include postage. Price: $15

iStitch Designs - Christmas Needleroll 2019




New from iStitch Designs - Christmas Needleroll 2019 stitched 1*2 on 40ct white Newcastle linen with AVAS 2925 (DMC 815 and AVAS 1845 (DMC 319) and embellish with tiny silver beads. The stitch count is 61 x 47

iStitch Designs - Black Band Sampler




iStitch Designs Black Band Sampler - originally sold as a SAL and is now released for general sale. It is stitched 1 over 1 on a pretty hole-edged natural linen banding (28ct) with NPI silk threads in black and red. It can, of course, be stitched in any colour on any type of fabric.

iStitch Designs - Mini Band Sampler







New release from iStitch Designs! This Mini Band was designed to fit inside a Tim Holtz Locket book. The blue model was stitched on 40ct white linen with AVAS Soie Surfine 2652 and the red model on 40 antique white linen with AVAS Soie Surfine 109. Both models are stitched one thread over one linen thread. The stitch count is 29 x 190. This new design is available *here*

Blue and Red Band Samplers







Debra sent me a picture of her iStitch Designs Blue Band Sampler and Red Band Sampler. Whereas both of these were designed to be stitched on 100mm linen banding Debra decided to stitch her versions one over one and side by side on 25ct mushroom Lugana fabric using Silks4u S-003 (blue) and S-038 (red). What a lovely idea and how beautiful they look. I can't wait to see how she decides to frame this.

Red Band Sampler finishes





Two finishes of iStitch Designs Red Band Sampler SAL:

The first one is by Rose who stitched her Red Band on the antique white hole-edged banding using Gloriana Schoolhouse Red silk thread and displayed on two wood spools.





Secondly is Stasi's lovely version again stitched on the antique white hole-edged banding but using
Gloriana silks in Crimson and Cranberry and mounted on a vintage wood bobbin. 

Both of these Red Band Samplers are absolutely gorgeous and I thank both Rose and Stasi for allowing me to show them here.

iStitch Designs - Black Band Sampler SAL






*NEW* Black Band Sampler SAL starting in mid July. Blue Band Sampler and the ongoing Red Band Sampler SAL were a great success so I decided to do another one. It it stitched on natural banding available from Marijke online shop *here* and is stitched with NPI silk threads in black (993) and red (502). Obviously you can choose any banding/fabric and threads to stitch this. The picture shows on Part 1 of the sampler which come in two main parts plus a bonus part with all new alphabets and bands. If you are interested in joining you can visit the SAL Facebook page *here* (currently called iStitch Designs - Red Band Sampler SAL). iStitch Designs - Red Band Sampler SAL

iStitch Designs Red Band Sampler SAL started on January 5 so we are now into Week 2 of the SAL. I made a collage of those people who posted pictures of Week 1. 



The top left hand picture on collage 1 is by my grand-daughter Meg who has chosen to stitch in AVAS silk thread in a deep navy blue (1426) and gold (2243) for her accents. I am so proud that she and Kirby enjoy stitching and we often have a stitching day when time permits. Meg is busy studying at Uni and Kirby works in a doctor's surgery so it's not always convenient to get together but we try. Kirby is still working on her Blue Band Sampler but is planning on stitching them together. Picture below. 




A lot of participants are using various shades of red thread but a few are trying other colours. It's difficult to say which colour choice I prefer as they are all very beautiful.  Click on the pictures for a closer look.
