BP update and snow?

Firstly an update on Beatrix Potter SAL. As you can see I have not stitched too much more on Miss Beatrix and I am itching to get back to her but I have been bogged down slightly with my exchanges. I am mid-way stitching my last exchange and once this is finished I can get this and another into the mail.

And whilst the rest of Britain is at a stop because of the snow ... Deal has bright sunshine! We had a slight snowfall on Sunday afternoon/evening and a couple of flakes yesterday and today - nothing and no sign that it actually snowed here at all! I am beginning to think that Deal is on a different time warp to the rest of the UK.

So the only snow I can show you is a little piece of stitching I did over the weekend - a snowflake ornament for the 2009 Christmas Challenge. It's actually stitched with white DMC 12 perle on 35ct white linen although it looks cream in the photo. The stitching is finished so I now need to check out my bead stash as I want to embellish it with Swaroski crystal round beads.

Not much else to report so...

Thanks for visiting
Take care

Beatrix Potter is beautiful - I love the colour of your floss! Really love the snowflakes too - is that a particular design?

Beatrix is looking very pretty! Your thread looks slightly different from mine, even though we're using the same colour. It works really well with your fabric colour.

The snowflake ornament is pretty too.

Your Beatrix Potter sampler is going along quite well. I love the color you picked out for the pattern!

When I was in Egham in 2007, it snowed there, but when I took the train to London, it looked like nothing had happened!!

It's still early maybe you'll get to have some nice snow ;)

    Love your ornament exchange!

The white snowflake on the white linen looks gorgeous. I can't wait to see the finished ornament with the beads.

Great progress on Beatrix. Just yesterday I watched Miss Potter on DVD and if I wasn't stitching on exchanges I would have pulled out my BP sampler and stitched on it. But it just has to wait ...

Very beautiful progress of Beatrix Potter. Every time I look at this work, I'm admiring the color-scheme, it's so nice!

And your white snowflake is just gorgeous - very elegant, very delicate and really exclusive work.

Beautiful work on both Bea and the snowflake ornament. I stitched white on white once, and it looked spectacular, so I'm sure your is even prettier IRL!

Carol, Your Beatrix Potter looks amazing and trust me here in the wilds of Hertfordshire it has been snowing big time. I live in England The Unready for any kind of weather - it's always a shock to the weather people! No snow tyres! No chains on the tyres! No gritting! In fact NO NOTHING!!! Ok my moan and gripe is over. Lots of Love Patti the displaced Yank xxx
