Laurence's Sew Pink

Laurence from Lin,Dentelles et autres passions recently sent me a picture of Sew Pink stitched with 'Fils Dansk Blomstergarn nr 19' thread on 'Lin 14 fils bleu ciel Bleu de Chine'. She has posted a picture on her blog of the fabric that she is going to use to finish this pretty piece of stitching into a pochette. I look forward to seeing her finish. Thank you Laurence for letting me post this here.

Sew Pink is still available *here* or by clicking on the CHARTS button on the sidebar.

If you have any iStitch design you would like to showcase here, please send me a picture and details of fabric and threads used as I am more than happy to post them. My email address can be found on my profile.

The frame I purchased for my little red sampler is now stained/distressed to my satisfaction. As I said in my earlier post *here* I wanted to dye this sampler to make it look old so I stitched up 3 little 'test ABCs' on the same Gander linen I used for the sampler and dyed each sample with tea, coffee and walnut ink respectively. The HDF OMG Red 1149 silk thread did not run on any of these pieces and all took the dyes really well. I will post a picture tomorrow of these, together with the original colour linen. I have yet to dip the original piece but I am leaning towards using the walnut ink for this.

I have stitched five ornaments in the past few days and have one more to go and then I will have a marathon finishing session for these and two others that I stitched before my vacation. Why is it that, despite good intentions to stitch ornaments during the year. they always get left until last thing?

Sew Peaceful and Sew Pink

Sew Peaceful

Sew Pink

Pat from Maryland (no blog) sent me two photos of her stitched and framed versions of Sew Peaceful and Sew Pink. Sew Peaceful is stitched on 25ct Antique White Dublin linen with DMC threads 500 (green), 326 (red) and 3787 (brown). For Sew Pink she used DMC 224 on 25ct Flax Dublin linen. Beautiful stitching Pat and thank you for allowing me to share your finishes here.

And for those of you who have been enquiring about the limited edition Sew Peaceful chart, I have today released it for general sale *here* or click on the CHARTS button on the sidebar. A companion chart to this, Sew Joyful, will be released shortly. Sew Pink is also still available on the charts blog.

Not much stitching has been achieved these past few days although I did unpick the gold thread on the Dutch Band Sampler and put a few stitches back into it. I will post a picture in the next day or so.

Weatherwise it's been alternating between clouds and sunshine but with a very high wind. It feels as though summer is coming to an early finish as it's getting darker earlier and the sun is not so high in the sky during the daytime. However will I survive the long winter months?

Sew Pink in ... purple!

Andrea from The Craft Room decided to stitch Sew Pink in ... purple. It's stitched on 40ct flax Newcastle linen with Weeks Dye Works Mulberry thread. It never ceases to amaze me how different a design can look when stitched in a different colour and I can't wait to see how she will 'finish' this. Andrea has posted some great pictures of this over on her blog so do pay her a visit and while you are there check out her other beautiful stitching and finishing. Thank you Andrea for allowing me to share this here.

Sew Pink (or purple) is still available *here* or by clicking on the CHARTS button on the sidebar.

No more stitches put into fabric since the ABC on Jane. Number 3 grand-daughter came to visit yesterday so we watched movies - The Sharks Tail and While You Were Sleeping. I like Sandra Bullock movies don't you?

Not much else to report so ..

Thank you for visiting

Sew Pink from Spain

Margaret from A Sampler of Stitches has turned Sew Pink into a wonderful pinkeep. For those of you who have not visited Margaret's blog do go over and have a look at some of her stunning work.

She stitched Sew Pink on 40ct flax linen using Vikki Clayton's Enchanter Rose silk thread and backed her pinkeep with pink and white toile fabric. Thank you Margaret for allowing me to show your beautiful version of Sew Pink.

Sew Pink is still available on my charts blog *here* or click on the CHARTS button on the side bar.

For those of you waiting for something new and slightly different the model of Sew Peacock is currently being stitched and hopefully it won't take me too long to finish it so watch this space.

My sister loved her birthday Beatrix and is currently moving stuff around to choose the best place to show it off in her home. Nicki asked what fabric and threads were used for Beatrix. The fabric is a 36ct linen called Puck from The Sampler Guild and Vikki Clayton's Raisin Wine and Old Maid of the Soil for the accents.

Another weekend is upon us - where do the days go to? Enjoy your weekend so ...

Elisa's Sew Pink

Earlier this week, Elisa sent me pictures of her lovely version of Sew Pink. She chose to stitch on a 28ct 'Count on Me' evenweave fabric called Rose with a Dinky Dyes silk thread 'Tinkerbell'. Elisa then framed this with a very pretty fabric and ribbon trimmed mount/border. What a great idea - thank you for sharing this with us Elisa! I really love to see how others interpret my charts so if you have a stitch/finish you would like to share I would love to post them on my blog. My email address can be found on my profile.

No stitching pictures of my own to share today. I was out for most of yesterday and, after taking a hot bath, I had a really early night. I think that 'too many' late nights had finally caught up with me as I climbed into bed just after 10pm and slept until gone 9am!

The snow is thawing and the cold north-easterly wind has subsided at last so I am hoping that Spring is round the corner ... well I can but hope!

Thanks for visiting - have a good weekend
Take care

Do you believe?

The last of my Christmas ornaments are stitched and finished. The last two are 'Believe', a 2008 freebie chart from The Sampler Girl. I know that neither Jack nor Tom read my blog so I think I am safe to post pictures now. I'm not too sure about the girls as I know that both Kirby and Meg pop in to visit occasionally, so I will delay posting pictures of their ornaments until they actually have them - I do not want to spoil the surprise. Both 'Believes' are stitched on 32ct raw linen with DMC 814 and have hangers made from gold or silver wire with the relevant gold or silver bells. I take no credit the 'wire' finish as I stole the idea from the lovely Staci - thanks Staci! I'm sorry for the poor photos but it's been very dark and gloomy here today and I just couldn't get a good picture.

And now for a sneak preview of Sew Pink! This is a companion chart to Sew Blue having the same stitch count and the same outer border. Not too much left to stitch on this one and as soon as it's finished I will complete the front chart cover with a picture and release it. I am not generally a 'pink' person but this pink silk thread by Dinky Dyes (103) is a really pretty variagated shade which looks good against the flax linen. Again not a great photo but enough to tease you with!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.
