More scissors!

Firstly Staci showed these scissors on her blog with the item number from Ebay (there is a much better photo on Staci's blog). Of course I had to go take a look and then of course I just had to have them. So with the "Buy It Now" feature I did just that! And then...

... I saw these from a different seller and, of course, I had to have these too! I have more scissors that I will ever use but at least these were not too expensive unlike my Gingher collection!

I did not work yesterday and Ken also had the day off. This was the first time in ages we were both off together so we decided to go to Bluewater shopping centre. I got some essentials - cosmetics etc and then I went into the Apple store and brought some extra memory for my computer and also a new program - Photoshop Elements 6. I saw a beautiful leather jacket but they didn't have my size so I obviously wasn't meant to have it - who are these size zero people?

I have managed to 'finish'  a couple of birthday gifts and these are now winging their way to their destinations.  I also put together my HOE Halloween exchange package and that, too, is winging it's way to it's new home. I hope my partner enjoys it as much as I did putting it together. Once these items are received by their new owners I will post pictures.

Has anyone ever brought anything from Stitching Bits and Bobs? I ordered a kit from them on August 20. I received an email to say it had been shipped on September 2 and I have still not received it. I had emailed them a few times and they say it takes at least 3 weeks - mmnn - Needle In a Haystack orders have arrived here within four days!

It's a nice day so I will give you three guesses as to where I will be this afternoon. - no prize for the first correct answer!

Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend
Take care

Edited: You can of course get details of the first pair of scissors from Staci's blog but for those of you who want details of the gold ones: the seller is 8seasonKnitting, the item number is 220276833930. They are called 'Dragon Phoenix scissors' and are sold both in 4" and 5" sizes.

    Ooh, lovely scissors!

I have used SB&B in the past, but I shop elsewhere now. Even though they have an awesome selection at great prices they take your money as soon as they get your order and then take forever posting it (and their postage is quite high to NZ).

They need to learn that in this fast paced world we stitchers want our stash now! lol

Enjoy your day in the garden!

I don't order from SB&B any more because I object to their shipping costs and also, as Rowyn says, the fact that you wait ages for your order to be shipped. However, IIRC, they ship everything Global Priority (hence the high, no-choice-in-the-matter shipping costs) so I would expect you to have received it by now.

    Hi Carol,
I also have the same scissors on the first photo! So we have same pair!! Yahoo!
And the second one is stunning!!
I would like to have one but I already have many scissors so can't have more, I only have one pair of hands! lol

I often use SB&B, but also I have to wait for a month till I receive my items.
I use them because they often have (? sorry for my English...) SALE, but I want to try to use Silver Needle next time, I saw some people have bought from them and their wrapping is so lovely! And they also so many items on their site!

    You changed your blog colour!
    I love it!
We use the same Template, you can customize like mine, if you want!

    Take care, dear Carol!

Beautiful scissors. SB&B do seem to take a long time. I do find their posting pricey.
However I am expecting a package from The Silver Needle, posted 29 Aug that hasn't arrived yet. ( JCS magazine posted 23 Aug arrived this morning from SN!?)

I want them, I want them. Off to search Ebay

Glad you got a pair of those scissors (I was surprised at the price too even with the exchange rate!)...but now I WANT a pair of those with the gold handles!!!

SB&B does take forever, even here in the states. Everytime I've ordered it takes about 3 weeks.

My friend, Joan, and I have order from SB&B, and have been frustrated with their delivery time also. We just can't wait that long for more stash.

I love your scissors and you've peaked my interest in that new software you got. I am going to have to check that out.

Lovely scissors! I'll definitely be adding those to my stash ASAP.

SB&B is my favorite ONS for great prices, but I only order things I can afford to wait on. It does take a while, but you definitely will get your things. Bobbie is a super lady.

Can't wait to see pictures of what you've been working on!

Love your scissors. I wonder why we stitchers all go weak in the knees whenever we see an usual pair of scissors??? I have quite a few pairs too (though nowhere as interesting as yours). My only comment is : ENJOY :-)

Oh I love both pairs of scissors. :0)

Yep, I succumbed to the 1st pair after seeing the details on Staci's blog too :D And had to throw in a pair of the pretty spring coloured ones too LOL.

As for SB&B - I had a bad run-in with them quite some time ago, and vowed never to return ... taking months to arrive, and not being contacted by email about issues (no details here, but that was the final straw for me). However, their sales are fantastic, and since she uses global priority bags if you do a fairly decent order to stuff the envelope full, it offset the higher postage costs. Mum wanted a pile of PS charts recently, so I have to admit I've placed my first order in about 18 months, but don't have any urgency for the contents (although this side of Christmas would be preferred LOL). I have, though, started their threads of the month again, though, to get the full collection of CC floss, as they don't charge postage even for international, and these are posted on a regular basis.

I have Photoshop Elements as well ... love it, even though I haven't learned how to use all the functionality yet (always too many other things to do haha). Enjoy playing with your new toys :D

Love the scissors - especially the gold ones.

Oh, you can never have enough scissors. Seriously. I have about a trillion and still can never find one when I need one. In the car, for instance. I need me a pair of car scissors...

    Wow they are both lovely.

So I succumbed to the scissors and bought a pair of the art deco ones. They are lovely and it's almost my birthday...I deserve it, right?! :) You changed your blog color! Google Reader has me spoiled and I just notice. I like it!

SB&B is a PAIN! I have complained about them charging my card immediately but waiting 6-8 weeks to mail my stuff. i find that unacceptable. I only use them to stock up on threads because with their sales, I can pick up the GAST, WDW and CC cheap. Needlecraft Corner seems like a good shop. Drema is really nice and timely and they sometimes have sales too. Plus, they have a birthday feature...I think a discount. I wonder if I'll get mine soon!

I will send you an email soon. So busy on my end. I've no idea where the time goes. Hugs!

I am addicted to pretty scissors. I have the first pair you showed. I bought them in a tiny French stitching shop in the Alsace. They are so pretty.

    Hugs ~
