A-D in miniature!

My first attempt from the Miniature Petit Croix book! I am using 35ct linen and stitching 1*1 with AVAS 2925 silk floss. The top A-D is tent stitch; the bottom A-D is cross stitch; the needle is a size 28 so you can see how small this stitching really is. I prefer the cross stitch version so will now stitch my chosen pattern in cross stitch although I may try both the tent stitch and cross stitch on 40ct linen first! Anyone got a spare magnifier?

Over-1 stitching has become addictive for me recently! Doesn't the stitching just look so impressive but delicate. But I HAVE to use a magnifier for it!

I like the cross stitch version better too but on 40ct you really can't tell the difference. Trust me I'm your friend. Love Patti xxx

I too HAVE to use a magnifier and excellent lighting...but it is worth it. I have done both tent and a full cross and sometimes the tent actually looks better. I´m sure whichever you choose will look great :)

Oh, I love stitching tiny things! Speaking as an over-50 stitcher, magnifiers and good light are absolutely necessary for success.

I was just debating whether to use a tent stitch or cross stitch on some over-one stitching I want to do. Thanks for sharing your sample!

Oh my, over one on 40 ct sounds like a real adventure. You might have to choose the tent stitch. I'm very curious to see whta you will be doing.

Great start ! I like the cross stitch better, but on 40-count, the tent stitch is alright. Last night, I experienced with 50-count, but doing 1 over 2, and I find it is the best combination. "The Stitching Lab" - this is how we should call ourselves...
