A Parisian Peacock

Stitched and finished by Valie
Photos by Valie

My dear friend Valie from across the English channel visited the AVAS warehouse in Paris to choose silk threads for her version of Sew Peacock - sumptuous silks in greens and blues to turn stitches into peacock feathers. She then altered the chart to help with the stitching and set to with needle and thread on a natural 36ct Zweigart linen and, once she finished the stitching, she turned her hand to finishing this as a incredible pinkeep with fabric, ribbons and pins a perfect match. I love the way that she turned the V upside down and stitched it in the darker thread to personalise it! I do not have to say what a stunning piece of work this is as the pictures speak for themselves - there are more pictures over on her blog. Thank you Valie for transforming this design into a work of art and, as always, for allowing me to show this here.

Sew Peacock is available *here* or by clicking on the CHARTS button on the sidebar.

Take care
