I also see that Pascale has received the exchange that I sent to her. For her, I stitched a pendibule on 30ct Brussels linen with green and red AVAS silk floss. I'm glad she liked it.

Last night was Stitch-n-Bitch so I took along the chocolates from Edgar to share with my stitching buddies - I think they were appreciated! I finished stitching my Monthly Challenge piece for Jayne's Attic and I plan on finishing both this, and the Christmas ornament I stitched earlier this week, later today.  

And, it looks as though I will be working for a few weeks. I had a call from the office to ask if I could fill in while someone is away on vacation. I agreed after consulting the long range weather forecast - do I really want to be working while the sun is shining? :o)

On the stitching front, I have been really busy finishing. HOE LHN exchange has been mailed off to it's new owner so I really hope that she likes it. I also finished my Christmas in July ornament and Quaker Animal exchanges and will get them mailed off sometime this week. I even finished the HOE Summer Quaker which is not due for mailing until August - how early am I with this one? I have also stitched and finished two birthday gifts for friends. All of this I cannot show yet, not even the birthday gifts as I know that both recipients read my blog but suffice it to say I am pleased with how all these projects have turned out. I have also stitched a tin topper for the Monthly Finishing Challenge and only need to put on my initials and the year before I finish this off. It's another black and white theme which, as you all know, I love but I will say nothing more until it's completed and ready to show. 

And, hopefully, I will also have something new to show in the next couple of days. I stitched this project in a SAL with a friend at the end of last year and we were going to get together for the finishing but, six months on, and it's still prepared and ready to finish so I have to decided to go ahead and finish mine now.

No more progress on Hannah Beeby as yet.

Apart from an ornament for the Christmas in July exchange, all my imminent exchange stitching is done so all I need to do now is have a marathon 'finishing' session. Maybe I should have finished as I went along but, hopefully, it won't take too long. I really want to get back to Hannah Beeby as she has been badly neglected of late. I am also expecting Donna's RR to arrive via Wendy and I am looking forward to stitching on this.

My replacement wireless router arrived this morning so I took time out to set it up. Although my existing router worked fine while linked to my computer with a rather ugly red ethernet cable snaking across my desk, the wireless did not work, which meant that neither the other desktop, nor my laptop could pick up a connection. My ISP decided the router was faulty and sent out a new one. I've no idea why but it was not as easy to set up as the original one but I got there in the end and the red cable has now gone back in it's box. I hate wires and cables don't you?  

This past couple of days have been glorious weather-wise and I have spent a lot of time in the garden either stitching or reading. My latest book is Sea Change by Robert Goddard  which is set in 1721 and described by the Guardian as "A lively mix of political intrigue and high adventure". Not my usual crime and thriller type book but it's the last in the pile of books given to me by a friend and as I had nothing else to read I gave it a go. 

Yesterday, while I sat outside stitching, I caught a glimpse of a movement to my right and when I looked over there was a squirrel about a foot away from me. Such a cute little guy who stopped, looked me straight in the eye and just stood there. I said 'hello' but he didn't reply!  He didn't appear frightened so we just eyed one another until he decided to leave. I wished I had had my camera out there and will, in future, take it outside with me just in case he decides to make a return visit.

Tonight our Stitch-n-Bitch group are going to a Thai restaurant for dinner and I am looking forward both to seeing everyone and, of course, sampling the fare.

This is Hannah Beeby after my one week SAL. I am amazed how quickly this is stitching up and I am really looking forward to the next week at the end of April. I did, however, have a visit from a little frog. The last picture I posted showed the top alphabet stitched to the letter Q so I carried on stitching to V but when stitching on the second alphabet I realised that instead of 4 stitches on the top of the O in the top line I only had 3! I had thought I would be able to stitch only one motif and was most surprised to do three. 

As my friend's daughter has now given birth to her first son, I am stitching in his name, date of birth and weight on the birth sampler I have been working on and will post a photo tomorrow. 

Next on my stitching agenda is to finish a needleroll for the Monthly Finishing Challenge - this is partly stitched. After that I have a choice of either a Quaker animal piece, a Christmas in July ornament or a freebie chart piece. Decisions, decisions!
