A few days ago I felt like beading so out came my beading box and charms and I made these fobs which are now either with their new owners or on their way. The bottom one has rose quartz beads and a fleur-de-lys charm, the next one up is made from purple Swaroski crystals and has an Eiffel Tower charm. Next is turquoise beads and a heart charm which will be going across the ocean to live with the daughter of a friend and last, but by no means least, pink and clear Swaroski crystal beads form a diamond. I hope the recipients enjoy their fobs.

I have also been stitching a couple of gift for two dear ladies. The stitching is completed so only the 'finishing' remains to be done. Once this is done I will get back to Anna Millet.

Something exciting is happening on my blog. Can you see what it is? I think it will call for a celebration!

Take a moment to think of the people in Japan whose country has been devastated by the earthquake/tsunami. I am happy that my sweet friend Yuko, her mother and her darling little Sweetie are all safe and that Noriko, another friend who is visiting her family in Japan, is also unharmed. These disasters are far too common in this day and age - is this the result of man's misuse of our fragile world? Let us keep these people in our thoughts and be thankful for those who are safe.

Back in 2001 I was lucky enough to attend a CA Wells' Living Legacy weekend in Harwich Port, Cape Cod MA. One of the first classes was 'lining a basket' with Marcia Brown of The Binding Stitch. I had not lined a basket before and I was quite pleased with my first (and last) effort!

This is the cartouche that I stitched for the bottom of the basket. There were other items to go into the basket; a photo album with a stitched front cover and a slider purse. If you have never attended a CA class and get a chance - go for it as her classes are fun and you will learn a lot.

A group photo - are you there?

When I signed up for the Quaker Friendship Round Robin I stitched a few test pieces to check fabrics and floss using a motif from the chart. I decided to turn these little test pieces into fobs for each of the members of this group and here they are. I am sending them off with Wendy's RR for each member to choose one and pass the others on. I would have kept these secret until each member had received their fob but as the RR won't finish until the end of the year I thought I would share them now. I hope you all enjoy them.

I am either going to put a few stitches into Hannah Beeby later or finish up my needleroll.

I am working until the end of this week. Although most of the staff returned to work this morning there's still a lot of catchup to be done so they have asked me to stay until Friday. More cash means more stash!

I received this wonderful package from Cathy B today. When Cathy heard that I did not receive a scissor fob in the HOE Scissor Fob Exchange she very kindly made the above replacement especially for me! It is beautifully stitched and finished with our names and the year on the back. And not only did she send me the fob she very sweetly enclosed a gift package too - four types of tea, three DMC varigation threads, a piece of pretty blue linen and a really cute snowman button!  Thank you Cathy so much - I really did not expect someone else to carry out my partner's obligation and it is much appreciated.
