Happy Birthday ...

... to Valerie. The pincushion that I stitched for her, which is an adaption of a CA Wells' pattern, is on 32ct raw linen with DMC perle cotton (644) and Vikki Clayton's Mermaid silk floss. I added both her name, mine and the year around the edge. I added a few goodies in her package too.

... and also to Edgar. It's his birthday today - Happy Birthday Edgar. For him I stitched a Quaker floss tag on 36ct lambswool linen with Vicki Clayton's Old Maid of the Soil silk floss (freebie pattern here). Edgar has posted a picture of the goodies I sent to him on his blog - he was really pleased with the cute little black sheep tape measure!

And I got to use my Crop-a-dile for the first time. This tool is one of the best I have ever used and, bearing in mind that I have problems with both of my hands, this indeed is a big compliment! It punched easily through 2 pieces of linen, 2 pieces of interfacing and 2 pieces of skirtex like a hot knife through butter and I thoroughly recommend it. I have since discovered that the easiest way to see where the hole will be is to turn the Crop-a-dile upside down to use it as you can position it better.

I have one last birthday gift on it's way to a sweet friend but oh dear I forgot to take a picture! I am sure she will take a much better picture than me anyway and will allow me to use it once she has posted it on her blog. I am afraid I was rather late in sending this gift - please forgive me my dear friend!

I also received a RAK package from another dear friend this morning. I will post a picture of this shortly but suffice it to say it was packed with the most wonderful things including the sweetest little bookmark I have ever seen.

Thank you for visiting - enjoy the weekend
Take care
